a picnic

Eating outside can turn the basic peanut butter and jelly sandwich into something so much more. I hope my kids will have fond memories of all our little trips to find a special place to picnic.

My wonderful family took me to the Estes Park Wool Festival this past weekend. I love to see the fiber producing animals. I was also looking for inspiration in the vendor booths, but came away without buying anything. I did subscribe to Wild Fiber magazine though. I can't wait for the first one.

one of a kind

This yarn I dyed and spun. It is unique, it is limited edition. I counted the yardage and was convinced I had enough to make a top down hat for my manthing for father's day. I started knitting and fell more in love with this yarn which is nothing like store bought, not just for its inconsistencies but for the color. I knit further and realized there is no way to finish an adult large hat with the yarn. I thought about making more, but I did not take notes during the dye process or follow a duplicable method. It sits now by my bed a half knit one of a kind hat, for my manthing.
