Birthday hat take 2

This is should be finished but it needs to be frogged. Manthing's head 23 inches, gauge 3 st per inch, I cast on 56 st worked a bit. I was aiming for snug and it is monsterous! I might cry. I wanted this finished so I can work on Christmas presents guilt free. I am puzzled as to the hugeness of the hat, this always happens when I knit his hats. I do enjoy the knitting the yarn is lovely :)

Out walking

I am grateful for walks with a princess. Cinderella has been ousted by Sleeping Beauty, " I'm changing my name, call me sleeping beauty." Briar Rose an accepted name, told me I don't have too many crimkles!

Last pottery class

Motherhood

This morning I offered a trip to the indoor playscape to mo. I was hoping she would meet some kids- outdoor parks have been deserted since the temperture has dipped. I knew I could sew up the baby sweater too. But then we got outside and saw the fog, the magical frost and an enchanting morning. I wanted to grab the camera and take some photos before the fog lifted, but mo was ready to play and I kept my word. Because I am a mom, and I know the fog will return. I also am all to aware that my five year old is growing up fast and I need to cherish our time together.

I did finish the seams, need to sew on the ties and it will be complete.

Mo made friends and had a great time.

And I was asked to knit some mitts for j's art teacher, hoping she will trade for some pottery!

Making it next

In the post was the winter 2008 Living Crafts magazine with this adorable snowman pattern. Designed by Chris de Longpre from knitting at noon designs to be small toy, I am thinking of making it ornament size instead. I just need some white sock yarn...

Knitting around town

This sweater is turning out to be a great knit. It is easy, quick and I think the results are fantastic! Now I just need to sew the seams, wash and block. I am pleased to have enough yarn left to make a matching hat.

Ginger bread man ornaments

Today was the fourth class of parent child pottery, I'm finally getting the hang of it. I am hoping my gingerbread men will turn out, they are meant to be Christmas tree ornaments. The painting was the hardest and I am not sure what the glaze will look like fired. I think it was slip glaze. Jacob is enjoying himself and would like to take another class. I would also like to try another class, I want to try a wheel (throwing) class.
