Snow Day!!

Yesterday J had off of school for conferences and it was the only snow day of the school year! It just wasn't fair...

I think the snow started in the early morning and continued until at least dinner time. The wind picked up right when the kids were heading to the hill to sled.

A celebration

Mo cooked a feast for means her daughter. We had sushi, applesauce, healing chocolate cake, coffee, wine and cake. It was great!

FO: luck of the irish mitts

Funny when I started knitting these mitts I felt so smug. It was 70 degrees here and my poor sister still needs these to keep her warm in Wisconsin. We had the sun and my garden is growing... Well my dears the current temperature is 16 degrees and more snow is on the way! I know Colorado's snowier months are March and April but it is usually followed by warm sunny days. me waiting for the warmer days:

art therapy

I was in a funk this morning. I had not slept well, was up way too early. I tried to get on line in the wee hours of the morning for my morning yoga but it wasn't working. I was over sensitive and weepy but I tried to hang in there. I planned an outing with Mo to the library followed by a picnic in the park. She made a friend and was off playing while knit on my "luck of the Irish" mitts aka fetching

This was ok but then I started playing with the rocks that had been kicked out of the play area.

This was so much fun to make. I also had a flower and a vine-y design. I was pretty pleased and felt so grounded and happy. The story has the best ending when two kids from the neighborhood school were swinging they said something about how I must know a lot about art and how it was really great art. I left happy and light hoping more people would make the world a little prettier :)

This is part of my gifts for the girls series of scarfs. I am very pleased with how it turned out.

This scarf required more attention to the pattern so I could only knit while not being disturbed. That made the progress s-l-o-w. I mailed it to my mother in law and think she should get it sometime this week. I am just hoping the weather in England stays cool enough to merit a scarf. :)

Now with two completed I am at the half way point. My lil' sis lives in a place where the current daytime temp is in the 80's so I am thinking she either gets hers last for next year's "winter" or I have to make something more useable. For my mom I need to decide if I remake one of the patterns or try something new. I am leaning towards the new. Also, I have been thinking it high time that I knit something for little ol' me. I started a shrug but took it apart a couple of times, I need slippers, and I have a vest that needs finishing. I guess I just need to pick a project!
