My family has a tradition to visit the Estes Park Wool Festival the first weekend in June. We enjoy looking at the animals while munching on kettle corn. This year it was cold, muddy and rainy. The festival goers were all stuffed into the tents trying to stay warm and dry. It was still fun to have the annual discussion with the young man who wants an angora rabbit, I always say not today. He tries to convince me he will do all the work, I remind him how often I feed his lizard. He says he is going to make money selling the fiber, I insist I don't enjoy knitting with angora. Secretly I am almost ready to give in, they are so cute! We left empty handed and headed to Rocky Mountain National park where the temperature at higher elevations was in the 30's!! We took a nice stroll around the lake where the boys enjoyed throwing things in, until the manthing nearly lost a hand knit hat. Really it was the best day ever, I love my family and our traditions.

I have happily saved the yarn from the ill attempted socks and turned it into something beautiful. Morgan and I both love the new shawl, it is just right to wear in over air conditioned buildings.

Now time to turn off the screen. My Sunday plans included:
-taking kids to see a jazz performance
-making more granola
-knitting on the latest shawl
-visiting the farmers market
-relaxing

i found it!

I have been trying to find an exercise routine I could live with for quite sometime. I used the elliptical trainer for a while and quit, can't remember if it was the dark basement I did not enjoy or how boring it is to go nowhere. So, I tried running and loved it, well I loved how I felt when I was finished, disliked a good portion of being out often contemplating falling down and crying. I practice solo yoga but have had a hard time making a habit out of it. I love yoga and will find a good studio when the time is right. I needed something I enjoy that won't break my budget so I started jumping with the kids and love it! I am very grateful for our friends for giving us the trampoline it is so much fun and a great workout. I find that if I am in a funk a quick jump changes my mood. I can't help but laugh while jumping. It will be much easier to stick with this routine because it makes me feel great and is really fun, not at all like work. :-)

Switch off Sunday

  

My glorious plans for Sunday:

- knit this shawl, with some lovely pink yarn 

- read this book, the library wants it back soon ;-)

- work in the garden

- enjoy the flowers in the garden

- enjoy on hour of yoga

- general clean around the house

- jump on the trampoline with the kids, my new favorite exercise

I have been shutting off for parts of Sunday for some time now and enjoy my life without email and news. I think I am addicted to current news events, need to break the habit. Tomorrow, I will be  screen free for the day with a movie at bedtime. The only tricky part for me is my music is on the computer and turning it on without checking my inbox is so hard! I have also been enjoying leaving my phone behind or with the ringer off, it is so peaceful. Enjoy your Sunday!

This has been a very busy week. One of the best moments was Morgan finishing up kindergarten. She is so excited to be a first grader in the big school, with the bus ride both ways, and let's not forget lunch with friends. Such a big change, I am happy for her and will make the most of every moment with my babies since time flies and no redos.
